The PocketBook Era (released 2022, firmware updated through 2025–2026) is PocketBook International's flagship 7-inch E Ink reader. How to get EPUBs onto your PocketBook Era

Method 1: USB-C cable

Connect the Era to your computer using the USB-C cable.
Select PC Link on the device.
Open the device in Finder or File Explorer and navigate to Books/.
Drag your EPUB files into the folder and eject. EPUBs appear in the library immediately.

Method 2: PocketBook Cloud

Create a free PocketBook Cloud account and install the desktop or mobile app.
Upload your EPUB to the cloud library.
On the Era, enable Cloud sync in Settings → Accounts. Your EPUB downloads automatically over Wi-Fi.

Method 3: Send-to-PocketBook email

Register your Era to get a personal @pbsync.com email address. Email an EPUB as an attachment and it arrives in your library via cloud sync within minutes.

Method 4: Dropbox integration

The Era supports Dropbox natively. Link your account in Settings → Accounts → Dropbox, add EPUBs to your Dropbox Books folder, and sync from the device.

Reader settings and EPUB customisation

Typography

Tap the centre of any page to open the reading menu. Adjust font family, size, line spacing, margins, and paragraph indentation. Sideload custom fonts by copying TTF/OTF files to the fonts/ folder on the device.

SMARTlight

Swipe down from the top edge to access the brightness and colour temperature slider. The warm/cold blend is fully adjustable — dial in a warm reading light for evenings or a neutral tone for daylight reading.

Annotation

Long-press any word to start a text selection, then tap Highlight to mark it. Tap Note to add a typed comment. All annotations export from the Notes app as a PDF or plain text file.

Converting PDFs to EPUB for the PocketBook Era

Fixed-layout PDFs from journals, guidelines, and textbooks do not reflow on a 7-inch screen. Converting to EPUB first gives you:

Text that wraps correctly at any font size
Chapter navigation via the table of contents
Highlight and note support across the full document
