Kobo's PDF renderer works by treating each PDF page as a fixed image. It knows nothing about the underlying text structure. The consequences:

How to convert and transfer — step by step

Send to Kobo (beta, newer models)
Send to Kobo is a browser extension (Chrome/Firefox) that pushes web articles and EPUB files to your Kobo over Wi-Fi. It is limited to recent models — Clara 2E, Libra 2, Sage, Elipsa and newer — on firmware 4.37 or later, and it works best for small files. For anything large, use USB.
Dropbox (2021 and newer models)
On Sage, Elipsa, Libra 2, Clara 2E and newer, link Dropbox under Settings → Accounts, drop the EPUB into the Apps/Kobo folder and tap Settings → Sync.
